Sleepy little Monkey

It's a good thing for nap time. Even though many days the monkey tells me he isn't tired, he quickly drifts off.
I know it's a bad habit for him to sleep with me but when I am working, it's the only sleep I get! But he does sleep in his own bed at night and doesn't seem to have much of a problem with it.

Another update...I have got to get better at this!

As almost another year has gone by, I realized that if I am going to get this going, now is the time!
I have been off of work for the past two weeks and looking at another 2-4 more weeks.  I had surgery and the recovery is slow.  If I worked in an office, I could probably go back now but being a nurse, I have to be able to lift.
I have been going through the house trying to thin the mounds of clothes and junk that we have accumulated with having babies!  My dad is coming to town for Ladybug's birthday in a few weeks so I must get through all these clothes!  I haven't gotten rid of anything from either baby so my collection is quite large!  I posted a little of the monkey's clothing on Craigslist-I hope I get some hits after putting in so much work!

Monkey is getting so big!  He is almost 2 1/2 now and getting so much better with his words.  He says new things everyday and I have to work at it sometimes to figure out what he is talking about.
Ladybug is getting big too-she will be 1 in just a couple of weeks.  It's so hard for me to believe that my baby is not really a baby anymore!  She has been walking for about a month now and is saying "mama, dada and bubba."  She also makes a really cute, high pitched squeel whenever she hears or sees a dog-doesn't even matter if it is ours or a neighbors dog.

The weather here has been so hot the past month or so.   Last week was in the 100's and was just miserable to even open the door for the dogs.  Hot weather means that J is working late, sometimes until after midnight.  If he is on-call, it is nothing for him to work 20 hours.

With him working so much, he tends to bring home flowers more often.  I have had fresh flowers in my kitchen since our anniversary in early June.  This week, it was lilies-I love lilies-especially purple ones!

Hot weather also means that I try to cook even more with my crock pot.  I hate heating up my kitchen anymore than absolutely necessary.  Being off work, I am better able to plan out my menu and be even more organized in that respect.

Three years since last post

Has it really been three years since my last post?!  I guess that is what happens when you have a computer that isn't so great, move and have two babies!
Let's tackle each of those now:
Computer-J bought me a new one this past weekend so now I don't have that as an excuse.
Move-We moved out of our townhouse in September 2009 just a mile down the street to a house in a nice, quiet neighborhood.  My brother and sister moved in with us and there was just no squeezing two more people into a two bedroom townhouse with three dogs.  They have now both moved out-brother is in the navy and sister is going to school full-time and selling insurance.  I would be feeling empty-nesty{is that even a word?} if not for the next point.
Babies-We have had two beautiful babies in the last 18 months.  The Monkey is our first and was he was born January 2011.  This is a picture of him at 9 months-it's one of my favorites.  If I hadn't gone through 27 hours of labor, I wouldn't think he was mine-he looks just like his dad!

Next the Lady Bug was born July 2012.  I am beyond excited to have a little girl and do all the girly things with! Thankfully, she looks like me!  Planned c-sections are the way to go!  Check in at 8am and baby at 9:40am!!
With the Lady Bug taking our third bedroom upstairs that was previously used to store everything that didn't previously have a home, I have had to get creative with my storage and organization.  I have put an over-the-door shoe hold behind every door that they will fit.  I've also had to purge many of things that I thought I could not live without.  Thank goodness for the nesting instinct!  Poor J, he had so many projects that I simply could not do on my own but that I thought "must" get done before baby Lady Bug came along. However, now I look around and still have way too much stuff!
At some point I will update the pictures of our house but it too is a rental and a house from the 60's{way too much wood paneling} and it simply isn't a priority to take pictures of it in all it's awkwardness.  Just envision wood paneling everywhere!

OU Football

As I'm trying not to finish packing, I decided to check out the OU football schedule for the fall.  It starts in late September-seems like it will never get here!!

No motivation

Sister graduates high school on Friday night and J and I are leaving for Arkansas after he gets off work Thursday.  I've done the laundry we are taking but I haven't packed yet.
On the plus side, the house is for the most part clean-just need to dust and start the dishwasher and take out the trash right before we leave.
I just have no motivation what so ever!!  Law and Order is on all day and I would be just as happy to watch that.

A new product to try

I'm completely addicted to the Discovery channel show, Pitchmen.  On this week's episode, there is a new odor eliminating spray called, "What Odor?"  I just ordered a bottle so we'll see next week when it gets here.  I'm pretty excited about it, especially after having 2 hairy dogs inside all winter!!
